Partners for School Wellness
The Healthy, Hungry-Free Kids Act of 2010 changes requirements for systems to improve child nutrition. This act puts a greater focus on the local school wellness policies that all school nutrition programs must have in place. The Griffin-Spalding County School Board approved a revised Wellness Policy to support the requirements of HHFK. During the school year, the system Wellness Committee will conduct an internal survey of school health and wellness initiatives. Data from this survey will be used to develop goals.
Please take time to review our local wellness policy. This plan is reviewed and updated in June of each year. Review meeting dates and times will be published on the system and department websites.
